Residence Hall Security Enhancements
Security turnstiles installed in the residence halls limit access to the building to one person per card swipe with electronically controlled gates that alarm if more than one person passes through with a card swipe or tries to enter without a card swipe. Important to the success of the turnstiles is ensuring the 24/7 staffed reception desk is adjacent to them to provide assistance to those that need it, greet guests, and respond to alarms of unauthorized entry. Additional improvements are related to making space for the turnstiles, improving sight lines, and ensuring accessible access.
