The new restaurant is taking over the space formerly occupied by the Gopher Express, Print Shop and Post Office, offering a fresh dining option at Coffman. This Sonic location is one of the few to be integrated into a university setting, a unique adaptation of the brand, which is traditionally known as a carhop and drive -thru model.

This overall space of the new restaurant is approximately 3,600 GSF on the ground level located near the Bookstore and Starbucks. The new construction will provide an area for the Sonic kitchen, which includes two sales kiosks, a counter serving area, as well as ample storage and seating.

Partnering with Mortenson, the project is currently in the initial stages, with demolition underway and temporary walls in place. Construction is expected to be completed and open in the later Fall of 2025
