The University of Minnesota Athletics Department constructed a new 321,000 SF Athletes Village on the east side of the Bierman and Gibson‐Nagurski buildings. This development supports excellence in academics and advanced training practice. The new 194,000 SF Center for Excellence will be a cornerstone of the Athletes Village and focuses on academics, leadership development and nutrition. Athlete's Village serves as a hub and flagship facility for the whole of the Athletics Department. Included within the Center for Excellence facility is a 59,000 SF Basketball Practice Facility. Other facilities include a 91,000 SF Indoor Football Practice Facility, and a 95,000 SF Football Performance Center.
