With the relocation of the UMN Women's Gymnastic Team to their new facility in Athlete's Village this past winter, prepping Peik Gym for demolition began. Starting in March, the HMP abatement team took about three months to fully abate Peik Gym. Once they were complete, the awarded GC Rachel Contracting took over the site and began with utility disconnects and prepping the tunnels infills. Now that the majority of the building has been taken down, there is about two to three weeks of material sorting and removal. The project has an anticipated Substantial Completion on or before September 1st, 2025.
