The College of Science & Engineering’s (CSE) School of Mathematics proposes to repurpose the former 6,296 square foot math library space into student-forward facing space including study, collaboration, graduate student workspace and private tutoring. The renovation will allow the Mathematics Program to create: Open teaching assistant space primarily used for group meetings, study space for mathematic department users and office space for master students with touchdown stations. This project combines the curtain wall system replacement at the east side of the headhouse where the math library is located with the repurpose of the two-story library space. The replacement of the 1968 curtain wall system requires hazardous material abatement, interior finishes replacement where impacted, and new fireproofing.
